Where to find it
Open the program from Programs and click Settings. Editing, pausing, resuming, and opening or closing applications need the Owner, Admin, or Manager role; a Viewer gets a permission error. Changes take effect when you click Save changes; the button stays disabled until something has changed. Saving does not change the program's status.
A program still in Draft also shows Edit & activate on its page. That reopens the creation wizard; its Save & activate button sets the program Active and opens applications. The same wizard URL works for a live program, where it shows a single Save changes button and leaves the status alone. Use Settings for everything else.
Program status
A program holds one of four status values.
| Status | What it means today |
|---|---|
| Draft | Public page and apply URL return not found. Applications are closed. The program page shows "Not yet visible to advocates" and Edit & activate |
| Active | Public page is live. New applications are accepted while applications are open. Advocates can submit posts |
| Paused | No new applications, invite code or not, and no new submissions. The public page still renders with "Not currently accepting applications", the apply URL shows the same card, and the program disappears from advocates' post-submission picker |
| Closed | Public page and apply URL return not found. No new applications or submissions. Permanent |
Below the status is the applications value, Open or Closed. When closed, the public page shows "Not currently accepting applications" in place of the apply button, the apply URL shows the same card, and the application API refuses new applicants, invite codes included. Existing advocates keep submitting while the program is Active.
Pause shows while the program is Active and Resume while it is Paused. Pausing leaves the applications value as it was. Close applications and Open applications toggle the applications value on their own and are disabled once the program is Closed.
Close program permanently is the last control in this section. It asks you to confirm, then sets the status to Closed and forces applications closed. This cannot be undone; there is no reopen and the button disappears. Closing does not cancel work in flight: approved earnings still pay out on the next payout run, and pending submissions and applications remain reviewable. See Open, pause, and close a program.

What determines a payment
At approval: reported impressions ÷ 1,000 × CPM rate, capped at the max payout per post, then capped at what remains of the advocate's monthly cap for the month the post was submitted in. If the advocate chose a charity reward, the result is raised to the charity minimum. The values in effect at the moment of approval are the ones used, so a rate change applies to every approval after it and to nothing before it.
The estimate attached to a pending submission runs the same calculation when the advocate submits. It differs from the approved amount only if the program's settings changed in between, or other approvals in the same month moved the advocate's monthly total. The approved amount is the one that pays.
